Baby A was very fussy last Monday. I went out for lunch with two friends and tagged him along. In the restaurant, he started crying very loud. I had to take him out and walk around the mall to make him stop crying. He didn't stop. Finally, we went to the baby changing room and I cradled him there. He was still crying but fell asleep. I started getting worried. I know this is not a normal cry from him. Then I noticed he kept on clearing his throat. It seems like there's something in there that is bothering him.
When he woke up, he was quiet for a couple of minutes and started crying again. His cheeks were flustered. I decided to call the doctor and ask what is happening. My friend mentioned that maybe baby A is starting with a cold. When I spoke to the doctor, she ordered me to buy this cold medicine called "peditus". It was not an antibiotic. It was a guafenesin. It helps clear down sore throat and make the phlegm easier to take out. I was a bit hesitant to use the drug but I followed the doctor's advise. She said anyway that if baby A still has the same symptoms after three days of taking the meds, we should go directly to her and she will check baby A.
Luckily, the medicine worked. Baby A is much better now. After three days of throat clearing, he seemed to be in a happier and better state now.
The weather seemed to have cleared up today. Hopefully, even with the temperature dropping down, baby A will get used to it and not catch a cold again.
